Our Organic Maitake Powder is a pale-brown coloured fine powder produced by grinding the fruiting bodies of the maitake mushroom (Grifola Frondosa) into a fine powder. The Maitake mushroom is often known in Japan as ‘The King of the Mushrooms’. It grows in large clusters near bases of maple and oak elm trees in forests in Asia and has been used in Asian traditional medicine for thousands of years. Maitake has a strong, earthy taste so goes well with a range of foods such as stir-fry’s, salads, pasta, pizza, omelettes and soups.
