“Queen of the Forest” limited edition reduction mushroom lino print

“Queen of the Forest” limited edition reduction/multi plate linoprint: an eggyolk-yellow chanterelle mushroom grows among moss and oak leaves. This print was two years in the making (no, really!) and is based on a mushroom I found in Fforest Brechfa, near Caerfyrddin. I used two plates in the printing – the first paler yellow, and then the second plate darker yellow. This latter plate I then cut away the mushroom and circles and printed again with a cyan mixed with opaque white to transparent cyan gradient. The transparency allows the yellow base to show through in the lower half, giving the vibrant forest green. Print size is 20 x 15cm; paper size is roughly 30 x 25cm / 12″ x 10″ & will fit a standard sized photo frame This print run is strictly limited to 10 copies. Every print will have tiny variations, being printed by hand: this is part of the deal with buying an original artwork. Printed onto thick Fabriano Unica paper. All vegan materials. Signed, numbered and dated. Printed in my studio on a Rollaco Cachet etching press in 2025. All my original limited-edition linoprints from 2025 will be stamped with a little red block of my initials F Ll D.
